Meet Gravity
The Lovely Patrice
(Lead, Harmony vocals and Percussion)
Patrice has been playing a variety of gigs in and around the Jersey shore. Prior to joining Gravity, she was involved in an acoustic folk/rock project; focusing on lead and harmony vocals, and adding percussion when necessary (which came in handy with no bass player and no drummer!). She's been around the music industry for years, gaining initial vocal experience and musical knowledge in a ten year career as a production coordinator for two Manhattan jingle houses.
Kevin
(Drums & Vocals)
Kevin has been playing the drums for many years (at least that's what he says). A self taught drummer, his passion for drumming is apparent. In the past years Kevin has played in many cover and original bands. He's performed at many clubs including CBGB's, The Stone Pony, The Birch Hill and Kenny's Castaways to name just a few. Kevin enjoys playing in Gravity. "They are all talented musicians". Kevin plays Slingerland Drums and Zildjian Cymbals.
Scott V. (Bass and Vocals)
Scott is from Staten Island where he cut his cover band chops with the band “Cold Blue” for almost 10 years. Scott continued to play with assorted other Rock and Hard rock cover bands in NJ until he found Gravity. Scott’s influences are Blues and Progressive based and he does his best to channel players such as John Paul Jones and Geddy Lee. Scott plays a Music Man Stingray 5 String through a Schroder Cabinet with Hartke Amplification.
Gery Hatrix (Guitar and vocals)
Songwriter, singer, guitarist Gery Hatrix formed "Accent On Travvel" in the 1980's after a few years playing hard rock covers and blues and being sideman to other original music artists. The band played live shows in the NY/NJ/Philly original music scene. CBGB, Bitter End, Stone Pony, Eastside Club, Live! Tonight, Dirt Club, Kenny's Castaways, Hurrahs, were a sampling of where AOT performed. In 1983 the band signed on to Stardust Records and produced a single and a video of their song "Jungle...Jungle". The video was played on MTV and USA Networks "Night Flight" rock video shows. The video was also broadcast on Italian TV as well as cable TV outlets around the USA. The single garnered commercial airplay and royalties in Sweden, of all places! The band was also featured in a book about original artists in the NYC area - "Land of a Thousand Bands", which was first published in 1985. Other rock roups Gery has been with over the years are EGO, Mr. Big, Visions, Whoopie and Cochise. Gery plays Yamaha, Gibson, Schoepher and a variety of other guitars through Marshall, Hiwatt, Traynor and Carlsbro amps.
